DangleMaster: Stickhandling Trainer
Dynamic ice/ball/roller hockey stickhandling training tool capable of performing poke and sweep checks to simulate a defender. Equipped with autonomous tracking of coloured pucks, this device is designed for use in both team practices and individual training sessions and was awarded Top 3rd Year Project at UBC Design and Innovation Day.
Consulted more than fifty hockey players and coaches to establish use cases and identify requirements
Spearheaded the mechanical design by specifying the torque and speed requirements for the sweep check motors and designing mounts for the pneumatics components and vision sensors
Refined device design to optimize elements related to safety, durability, and user experience, both with virtual prototyping and testing
